This down-home, non-resort community about 30 miles west of Vail features friendly folks and a cozy mountain setting. Not only is this town close to Vail and Copper Mountain ski resorts, it's also just east on I-70 from stunning Glenwood Canyon and some prime whitewater rafting. Explore the area at the museum and visitors' center run by the local historical society.

Shoppers will find a variety of mountain gifts in the Historic Central Business District in downtown Eagle. In addition the local coffee shop, bakery and bar and grill in Eagle's town center, the entire Eagle Valley also supports a range of affordable eateries - from sit-down dinners to fast-food spots.

Eagle is a place where residents take snowmobiles to pick out the perfect Christmas tree. Around here, skiing, snowmobiling, snowshoeing, ice fishing, hiking, rafting, lake and stream fishing, golfing and camping are just some of the available activities. Anglers can cast right from town along the Eagle River, or fish year round at Sylvan Lake State Park - just 15 miles from Eagle. Around town, Bureau of Land Management and national forest lands offer 300 miles of four-wheel-drive trails, and the Vail/Eagle County Regional Airport is just five minutes away.
