Park County Tourism Office

South Park National Heritage Area is a huge mountain park replete with ranches, historic sites, wildlife areas, rare grasslands, trout streams, unusual plants, museums and galleries. Surrounded by wilderness, Platte Canyon was carved by the South Platte River through Bailey. Secluded guest lodges are located near significant heritage sites throughout.

Directions: From Denver, take US Highway 285 southwest to Bailey and Platte Canyon. Continue another 30 miles southwest on US Highway 285 to reach South Park. From Colorado Springs, take US Highway 24 west to Lake George and the historic Tarryalll valley.
