Rio Grande Scenic Railroad

Rio Grande Scenic Railroad offers steam engine excursions from Alamosa and LaVeta (easily accessible from Denver) on hundreds of miles of historic rail. Grab a seat in our dome cars and see why we're named "the scenic line of the world" as you enjoy panoramic views of wildlife and mountain meadows. We also offer service to the Great Sand Dunes National Park.

Directions: One block south of Main on State Street in downtown Alamosa, Colorado. Rio Grande Scenic Railroad's depot also houses the newest Colorado Welcome Center. Train platform in La Veta is just off the corner of Main Street and Ryus Ave near the park.
