Nestled in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains, the town of Lyons is a unique place to stop and stay awhile. This small, intimate community is known as the Double Gateway to the Rockies for its dual highways that take you up the North and South St. Vrain Canyons to Rocky Mountain National Park and beyond. RMNP is just 20 miles west.
World famous for the native rock, sandstone, Lyons boasts a strong stone quarry industry that delivers their stone across the nation and abroad. The Historic District of Lyons has 16 buildings that display the fine craftsmanship and stunning beauty of sandstone.

A mecca for artists, outdoor enthusiasts and musicians Lyons has a variety of things to offer. Visitors will find a comfortable motel room, lodges and cabins. Plus, 17 restaurants to choose from! Many restaurants and coffeehouses feature live music, too.

Shoppers will find everything from antiques and unique gifts to custom bamboo rods, also a hardware store, pharmacy, florist, three groceries, and other retail services.

Furthermore, Lyons has become popular for its music festivals. Enjoy regional and national acts at Planet Bluegrass where the North St. Vrain Creek winds through the festival grounds making for a cool, relaxed outdoor music experience.

Adventurists alike can mountain bike Hall Ranch, rock climb at Button Rock or kayak the Whitewater Park in Meadow Park. Float on a tube down the North St. Vrain Creek, off road up Bunce School Road near Allenspark or hike around Rabbit Mountain.Take a scenic drive up the South St. Vrain Canyon to the Peak to Peak Scenic Byway and enjoy the Rocky Mountain views.
