Is Denver the only airport in Colorado?
Denver International Airport (DIA) is the largest airport in Colorado, but it is not the only airport. As a matter of fact, Colorado is home to eight regional airports that offer direct and easy access to the state’s ski slopes, national parks and monuments, hiking and biking trails, rivers and lakes, and many other attractions throughout the state. Colorado’s regional airports: Colorado Springs Airport, Durango-LaPlata County Airport, Eagle County Regional Airport, Fort Collins/Loveland Airport, Grand Junction Regional Airport, Steamboat Springs Airport, Telluride Regional Airport and the Yampa Valley Regional Airport.

Yes, we can assist accredited members of the media with complimentary or press rate air and ground transportation and accommodations.
What is included in a press trip?
Journalists are required to submit a request 60 days prior to the proposed travel dates. A letter of assignment and tear sheets also should be submitted at this time. Upon verification of the information provided the request will be distributed to the appropriate PR Officers at the proposed destinations. Requests received within 60 days of travel dates will be viewed on a case by case basis.
Filming crews are required to submit request 60 days prior to the proposed travel dates and must complete and comply with all filming agreements per destination/attraction. Requests received within 60 days of travel dates will be viewed on a case by case basis.
Individual media visit expenses are limited up to 3 days, on the 4th day is the responsibility of the participating media to arrange and pay for their accommodations, transportation and any other logistics involved in their stay unless otherwise arranged by the Colorado Tourism Office.
The Colorado Tourism Office will consider expense reimbursement for only one media representative per company. Additional travel partners will be at the expense of the individual(s).
The Colorado Tourism Office will not reimburse airline or rental car upgrades and will not reimburse for gas.
Colorado destinations may choose to offer the best media rate or complimentary rate. This will be determined on a case by case basis by the destination host based on timing, length of visit, market or other circumstances.
Journalist, film crew, photographer will be assisted for the sole purpose of obtaining travel media coverage for publication or feature in their respective markets (or agreed additional markets).
Approved Media will maintain one or more appropriate general liability insurance policies with minimum coverage limits for personal injury and property damage per occurrence, and additional aggregate coverage for the duration of this agreement. The media will also hold necessary travel medical insurance policies for the duration of the trip.
All expenses must be arranged and paid for by the participating media. Reimbursement forms accompanied by valid receipts are required for reimbursement of all expenses. All reimbursement forms must be submitted within 30 days of travel dates or they become null and void.
The Colorado Tourism Office will reimburse up to $650 for expenses incurred for travel to and around Colorado. Expenses must be submitted with a valid receipt(s) for reimbursement.
The Colorado Tourism Office will cover the cost of expenses (airfare and travel expenses) for one representative up to $650 (domestic media) that is pre-approved by the CTO. Other requests will be reviewed on a case by case basis. Costs incurred for dining, attractions, shows and souvenirs are the responsibility of the media unless indicated by the destination hosts.
After confirmation of travel, no reimbursements are available if the trip is cancelled or dates changed. All fees associated with reservation changes are the responsibility of the media.
The Colorado Tourism Office is not responsible for the cost of insurance, fees, damage or other incidentals including Internet, room service and long-distance phone calls.
I am from Colorado. Can I still attend a CTO-sanctioned press trip?
Of course. Many writers based in Colorado write for publications that reach an audience in state and across the country. Contact a member of the
CTO Public Relations Team if you are on assignment for a specific story or if you would like to request a press visit.
Do you have high resolution images of Colorado?
We have a broad library of images located in the

The photos on COLORADO.com are to be used ONLY to promote Colorado as a leisure destination or in a news story. They cannot be used to promote individual, for-profit businesses. The appropriate photo credits must be used. In addition to crediting the individual photographers, please give credit to the Colorado Tourism Office. You cannot sell the photography provided by the Colorado Tourism Office in any form. Photos cannot be included in a photography project that is for sale.
Do you have broadcast quality video of Colorado? Is it available online?
Yes, we have b-roll footage on BETA SP available for those who need to use it in an editorial or non-commercial promotional capacity.
These videos may only be used for editorial promotion of Colorado as a travel destination. These videos MAY NOT be resold, copyrighted or used in any type of paid advertising without the express written consent of the Colorado Tourism Office. Any use of one of these videos should carry a credit to: Colorado Tourism Office and/or Colorado.com. Contact a member of the

I am a freelance writer. Do I need an assignment letter to attend a press trip?
Generally we require all media to have a letter of assignment in order to attend a press trip. This is on a case by case basis so please contact a member of the
CTO Public Relations Team if you are interested in visiting Colorado.
I want to be added to your media list. Whom should I contact?
Contact a member of the
CTO Public Relations Team and ask to be added to our media lists. If you are a freelance writer, list the outlets to which you regularly contribute and send a link to recent stories.
Can you fact check a story and/or provide information for a story?
Yes. We ask for a minimum of 72 hours to fact check a story, depending on length and complexity.
I don’t see a topic covered in your press kit. Can I contact you for this information?
Yes. While we cover a wide range of topics in our press kit, it is impossible to include everything that the state has to offer. Contact a member of the
CTO Public Relations Team with any questions.
I need a quote from a CTO official on a specific or timely topic. Who should I contact?
