Roller Derby

These girls are rough and tumble. In full battle gear, consisting of helmets, pads and moxie to spare, Colorado’s roller derby teams tear up the oval course for your amusement. You may have thought roller derby went the way of disco, but these quad-skate racers are gaining speed and popularity with underground sport lovers. Matches are held regularly and a couple different leagues exist, often fighting (or rather, playing) each other to see who’s the top team. Denver’s Bladium hosts a number of matches throughout the year.
