Howelsen Hill

I’m not gonna lie, you need be a bit loco to go down Howelsen Hill’s ski jump at tear-streaming speeds. Luckily, the world is full of glory-seeking powder hounds. The epic jump, and the fact that Howelsen Hill has consistently superb snow conditions, has given this ski area the distinction of growing more Olympians than Iowa has corn. OK, maybe not than many, but it has helped produce more Olympians than any other ski area in North America. Its famous jump isn’t just for professionals; if you’ve got enough moxie to try, you can teeter at the top and bomb on down to a video-ready flight over fluffy snow…or you could end up on a YouTube blooper reel. Either way, onlookers will be impressed.
