ATVers rock crawlers find paradise in the North Fruita Desert Area and several area golf courses, including Adobe Creek National Golf Course, grant access to otherworldly canyon and mesa views.

Stop by the Colorado National Monument Visitor Center for a better understanding of the history and geology of the rock plateaus and canyons in this stunning 32-square-mile monument. Then fill a water bottle or two and see them for yourself.

And checking into the Colorado Welcome Center at Fruita is the perfect way to start any Colorado vacation. Travel councilors can assist in trip planning, weather and road updates and give you free coffee, brochures, WiFi and other amenities.

Visitors at the Fruita Fat Tire Festival in late April/early May can watch bike races and even a bike rodeo, or just kick back and listen to the live music. Each June, Mike the Headless Chicken Day celebrates the story of one Fruita chicken who lived without his noggin for two years. And the Rimrock Rodeo runs every Tuesday June through August.
