Battlement Mesa

Located on a high plateau overlooking the Colorado River, Battlement Mesa is a growing golf resort community with a great mix of people.

In days past, Ancestral Puebloan farmers, Spanish miners and the infamous Dalton Gang outlaws all called the Pine River Valley home. The no-stoplight town's main attraction is its 18-hole championship public golf course and accompanying 3,200-acre residential community. When it opened, the Battlement Mesa course was ranked one of the Best Courses in America You Can Play by Golf Digest. The award-winning course draws golfers from all over for the great views, challenging greens and affordable rounds. On site are fully furnished one- and two-bedroom suites for those spending the night. These renovated condominiums include access to amenities including a swimming pool, weight room, racquetball courts and an outdoor playground.

Visitors and locals alike enjoy area fishing, hunting, skiing, horseback riding, hiking, backpacking, mountain biking, snowmobiling and climbing. Downtown Battlement Mesa exudes that down-home feeling for which Colorado's small communities are famous. Main Street features a few restaurants and gift shops. For more extensive shopping, larger towns such as Grand Junction and Glenwood Springs are not far from Battlement Mesa. The smaller, authentic, Old West towns of Parachute and Rifle are also nearby.
