Dude Ranches

Saddle up and get ready to experience the spirit of the Old West. Colorado's dude ranches allow you to ride the range, herd cattle and live out dreams of being a cowboy or cowgirl. You'll find everything from working cattle outfits to the most luxurious resorts Colorado has to offer.

Horseback Riding

There is nothing more relaxing and fun than letting a well-trained horse take you into the Colorado high country. But trail riding is just one way to enjoy horses at our ranches around the state. Additional horseback activities are offered, including cattle roundups, cattle roping, horseback gymkhanas, overnight pack trips and family rodeos.

Activities With Cattle

Ranching and cattle go hand in hand. Many of today's dude ranches evolved from cattle operations years back. Others were conceived and built as destinations in their own right but include activities with cattle in their programmes.

Children's Programmes

A dude ranch is a perfect place for a family holiday. You'll find a wide variety of programmes for everyone in your family — from babysitting and kids' programmes for children who are not old enough to ride, right through to programmes for your oldest "kids."

Many ranches offer nature hikes, visits with local artisans and opportunities for skeet shooting and sporting clays, and have a rifle and archery range on the ranch. Many ranches also offer mountain biking, hiking, hot-air ballooning, rock climbing, swimming and fishing instruction.
