Overview

The tent Chautauqua,is often confused with the Colorado Chautauqua Association in Boulder and the Chautauqua Institution at Lake Chautauqua, New York. While all were founded with the same ideals of educational enrichment and self-improvement, their origins and format are quite different. Chautauqua offers a unique blend of theatre, history, and the humanities under the big tent where audiences meet and engage in conversation with personalities from the past. All events are free and open to the public.
