Sassafras American Eatery

Sassafras is a full-service restaurant located in the Jefferson Park neighborhood of Denver. Our menu offers moderately-priced comfort food influenced by Southern American cooking traditions.  We are proud to create dishes using locally-sourced and organic ingredients. The orgininal Sassafras American Eatery location resides in the Historic William J. Dunwoody House, which dates back to 1889.  With stained glass windows, cozy views, and a vibrantly warm interior, our location offers street and off-street parking. Outside, have a seat on our wraparound porch and enjoy the peaceful patio setting.
