The Gilpin History Museum is home of the famous Mountain Submarine. Rotating and permanent exhibits in the museum examine the colorful social, political and economic history of Gilpin County. One room is dedicated to the county's mining past, while several other rooms recreate a doctor's office, bank, church, and even a saloon. Tours of historic buildings in Central City are also available.
