COLORADO TOURISM OFFICE INCREASES MARKETING GRANT PROGRAM FUNDING BY $100,000

DENVER (June 27, 2013)— The Colorado Tourism Office (CTO) is now accepting applications for its Marketing Matching Grant Program, which has increased its grants awards by $100,000 in grant funds and $10,000 in 1:1 Match grant funds. All applications for grant requests must be submitted online by 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 8, 2013 to be considered. The annual competitive grant program offers financial assistance to Colorado’s tourism industry for the purpose of enhancing marketing efforts to visitors.

The program will now award up to $400,000 in grants, an increase from the $300,000 awarded in 2012. The 1:1 Match has increased to $25,000, up $10,000 from last year. For every $1 the awarded organization allocates to the program, the CTO will provide $1 in matching funds. Up to 20 percent of the match may include services such as staff time or donated services or materials relevant to the grant project. Funds will be awarded to multiple organizations in both the regional/partnership and statewide categories.

The CTO Marketing Matching Grant Program is meant to provide funding to Colorado not-for-profit organizations for the purpose of promoting the state or a region as a tourism destination. Travel regions throughout the state are eligible for these grant dollars, as well as statewide associations, organizations and other nonprofit entities that engage in promoting travel throughout the entire state.
