SPRING SKIING ESCAPES
Sun, snow and signature events make spring skiing in Colorado unlike any other. Bright blue skies and perfect snow conditions for Colorado’s 40,000 acres of skiable terrain make skiing and riding in spring a highly anticipated event. Explore what some of Colorado's ski resorts and areas have to offer:
Keystone: Enjoy the longer spring days and ski well into the night at Keystone. With the largest night-skiing operations in Colorado, Keystone stays open late by lighting up a number of its runs. Go directly from the slopes to après ski and enjoy Keystone Village's dining and nightlife.
Arapahoe Basin: A-Basin, as it's known by locals, is among the first ski resorts to open and the last ski resorts to close in the United States. Its high peaks (the highest skiable terrain in North America) make mid-June snow a common occurrence. On a sunny day, skiers and boarders enjoy tailgating with portable grills and great music at "The Beach," the parking lot at the base of the mountain.
Aspen/Snowmass: Comprised of four distinct mountains, Aspen is the perfect spring ski destination for skiers and boarders of any age. In the spring, the towns of both Aspen and Snowmass are alive with great outdoor concerts and ski and snowboarding events. Visitors should keep their eyes peeled for Hollywood's top stars, as both locations are popular stopovers for celebrities during the spring months.
Telluride: Located in Southwest Colorado's San Juan Mountains, Telluride is a popular spring destination for snowboarders. This mountain resort offers dozens of snowboarding trails and one of the state’s largest snowboard parks, including roughly 20 acres and 1,000 vertical feet of gaps, hits, tabletops and kickers.
