A TOAST TO COLORADO WINE AND BEER
Colorado has long been heralded as home to some of the nation’s best beer, and true wine connoisseurs have taken note of Colorado’s viticulture prowess. Nowhere else in the United States is high-quality beer and award-winning wine so well represented than right here, in our home state.
Colorado Wine
Wine aficionados are drawn to Colorado's award-winning wineries, but as a local, you don’t have to travel the globe for a glass. Like the rest of the state, you'll find Colorado's wineries to be friendly, laid-back and a great place to discover new tastes. There are more than 70 wineries located throughout the state — most offering tours, tastings and scenic picnics in their vineyards. You can plan a trip to almost every part of Colorado and find a wine trail to follow — just look for the blue information signs with the "Colorado Wine Trails" logo. Visit Coloradowine.com for more information.
Colorado Beer
Since beer brewing in Colorado has been around since the 1800s, there’s a mountain of choices from which to choose. Today, Colorado is among the nation’s top beer producers and claims one of the largest concentrations of craft breweries in America, not to mention its status as the home base for globally popular Molson Coors Brewing Company. In a nod to the state’s beer expertise, the Great American Beer Festival — the largest domestic beer festival in the United States — is held in Denver every fall (this year’s festivities flow from September 24-26, 2009). For more information on Colorado’s breweries, visit the Colorado Brewers Guild online at Coloradobeer.org.
