The Boulder Symphony, originally founded in September 1992 as the Boulder Community Orchestra and Timberline Symphony shortly thereafter, recently moved its home base to the First Presbyterian Church in Boulder to commence its 2010 _ 2011 inaugural concert season. In only its third season back in Boulder, the Symphony has already become a musical staple of the regional community, sharing its passion for music though thrilling and critically acclaimed performances, world premieres, education and outreach throughout the greater Boulder and Denver metro areas. The world premiere of composer in residence Austin WintoryÍs Gray Rain recently won the Boulder Symphony a Global Music Award. The Symphony was also featured in award winning documentarian Chuck FrybergerÍs Song of the Untouchable.
