Campo

Situated in the swaying grasses of Comanche National Grassland, Campo is ideally located for hunters and nature enthusiasts.

The short-grass prairie found here is some of the last of its kind in the world. Pronghorn, pheasant, rabbit and birds of prey are all found in abundance. For the best bet in wildlife viewing, consider a tour of Picture Canyon and Cottonwood Canyon. You'll see remnants of 20th-century homesteads and craggy stone formations. Plenty of birdlife will keep your binoculars busy.

If you are driving north from Oklahoma on U.S. Hwy. 287, Campo is the first the town in Colorado.
