Aurora Fest will celebrate "The World in a City" on the Aurora Municipal Center Great Lawn, 15151 E. Alameda Parkway, from 3 to 10 p.m. on Saturday, June 13. Aurora Fest is a free, multicultural celebration that brings the sights, sounds, and flavors of nations from around the world together to honor the diverse people and communities that call Aurora home. This family-friendly, one-day event features two stages of vibrant musical and dance performances, a variety of local food trucks, an international marketplace, the Parade of Nations, a Fashion Show, art displays, creative activities for children, and much more. Aurora is one of the most diverse cities in Colorado. About one in five Aurora residents is foreign-born, and more than 160 languages are spoken in Aurora Public Schools. Aurora Fest is an intentional celebration that invites the entire city to proudly embrace and celebrate its global spirit. The festival also provides opportunities for local vendors and businesses to connect with thousands of community members. Attendees will have access to valuable community resources related to health services, documentation assistance, food programs, and other essential services. This year, the festival will transition to an afternoon start time and continue after dark, setting the stage for a spectacular festival finale.
Aurora Fest attendees will be invited to experience a drone light show performance by Brightflight Drone Shows. The show is made possible by the America 250 – Colorado 150 Commission, the Colorado Tourism Office, and sponsors including UCHealth, Tallgrass, and Chevron. The performance will be part of the year-long America 250 — Colorado 150 series of events commemorating the 250th anniversary of the founding of the United States and the 150th anniversary of Colorado's statehood.
