Visit the mysterious secret underground world of the gold miner! Ride the electric mine train 1/3 mile deep into Galena Mountain then easy walking with your miner-guide through the the quartz vein tunnels for live mining demonstrations. You'll see operating air drills, hoisting skip, slusher, mucker and learn about the "honey" wagon - all authentic San Juan mining equipment from the 1930's - 1960's.  Do your own mining at the sluce boxes outside and keep what you find!   A covered picnic area is available for your convenience. Located 5 miles from Silverton in scenic Cunningham Gulch surrounded by 13,000 foot peaks. Tours depart every hour on the hour 10 am through 4 pm. No reservations needed but arrive early to purchase your tickets.
