MICHELIN Guide Colorado awardees to be unveiled at Mission Ballroom in mid-September

[DENVER, CO, Aug. 15, 2023] — The MICHELIN Guide team announced earlier today the official reveal date for its first Colorado Guide selections. The MICHELIN Guide Colorado is the latest statewide expansion of the MICHELIN Guide, and it will cover Denver, Boulder, Aspen and Snowmass Village, the Town of Vail and Beaver Creek Resort.&nbsp;

Chefs will be invited to the Mission Ballroom in downtown Denver the evening of Sept. 12 to discover whether their restaurant teams have earned a MICHELIN Star, Bib Gourmand or another MICHELIN Guide distinction. This will be the first time any Colorado restaurants will be up for a&nbsp; Michelin designation. This is an invite-only event.

The debut event highlights the dedication of Colorado’s culinary industry and reinforces the state as a premier dining destination. Colorado has a rich culinary community that includes both established, notable chefs and innovative up-and-comers. Their restaurant teams are committed to using a wide range of high-quality ingredients, sourced locally and sustainably, with farm-to-table dining being a particular highlight. Colorado's culinary scene is known for its creativity, with many restaurants incorporating different flavors and ingredients to create unique dishes that you won't find anywhere else.

The MICHELIN Guide in North America

Earlier this summer in June, Colorado became the eighth MICHELIN Guide destination in North America. Michelin announced its first North American Guide in 2005 for New York. Guides have also been added in Washington, D.C, Chicago, California, Florida, Toronto, Vancouver and Atlanta.

The MICHELIN Guide remains a reliable companion for any traveler seeking an unforgettable meal. The Guide was first published in France at the turn of the 20th century to encourage the development of car mobility as well as tire sales by giving practical advice to motorists. Progressively, the Guide has specialized in restaurant and hotel recommendations. Michelin’s inspectors still use the same criteria and manner of selection that were used by the inspectors in the very beginning, now applied in more than 40 destinations around the world.
