Colorado's 150th Birthday Bash

The Town of Olathe's Colorado 150th Birthday Bash is a community celebration honoring the 150th anniversary of Colorado statehood by bringing residents, families, businesses, and visitors together to celebrate our state's history, culture, and community spirit. This event supports the goals of the 2026 commemoration by celebrating Colorado's rich heritage while fostering community pride and connection. Through traditional small-town festivities, local entertainment, and family-friendly activities, we aim to recognize the people, communities, and traditions that have shaped Colorado over the past 150 years. The celebration will take place on Saturday, August 1, 2026, at Olathe Town Park from 3:30 p.m. until dark, when the evening concludes with a family-friendly movie in the park. The event is free and open to the public. Activities will include a parade down Main Street in Olathe, bringing together community organizations, local businesses, clubs, and residents in a festive display of hometown pride. Attendees will enjoy live music from Smokewagon Sunrise Band, as well as craft and vendor booths showcasing local artisans, makers, and businesses. The event will also feature the return of the community pancake supper, a cherished tradition that brings neighbors together to share a meal and strengthen community connections. We hope to attract residents from Olathe and surrounding communities throughout the Uncompahgre Valley and Western Slope, along with visitors, families, local organizations, and businesses. The event is designed to be inclusive, affordable, and welcoming to people of all ages. By combining long-standing community traditions with entertainment and local participation, the Colorado 150th Birthday Bash will honor Colorado's past, celebrate its present, and inspire pride in the future of our state and our community. The event serves as an opportunity for residents and visitors alike to come together in celebration of Colorado's 150 years of history, resilience, and growth.
