Explore Grand Lake's Backcountry This Winter

Grand Lake is the Snowmobile Capital of Colorado and one of the nation's top snowmobiling destinations December through April. Tucked on the western side of Rocky Mountain National Park, the annual snowfall is a boon — so much so in fact, that town streets are left snow-packed so snowmobilers can motor right up to their favorite lunch spots after exploring miles and miles of forested trails, hills and powdery meadows.

When you're off the sled, there's also the Grand Lake Nordic Center, wildlife viewing (especially elk, moose and bighorn sheep), ice fishing, sleigh rides and snowshoeing on more than 350 miles of trails in this winter wonderland.

Make trip planning easier with resources like the Grand Lake travel guide, and look for deals on lodging.
