150 Star Parties: Star Party at Smokey Jack Observatory on August 8th

Join us for a captivating Star Party as we gaze upon the vibrant spring skies over the Wet Mountain Valley. Attendees will be able to observe our pristine night sky thru the lens of the Smokey Jack Observatory’s 14”, state of the art telescope. Additional telescopes will be setup around the Observatory for viewing and one of our trained Star Guides will be pointing out the brightest stars and constellations. This event is shared in partnership with DarkSky Colorado. In honor of 150 years of Colorado statehood, we will host 150 start parties across the state throughout 2026. Join us as we celebrate the beauty of our night sky in this commemorative year.
