Snowshoeing and cross-country skiing opportunities abound in Arapaho National Forest, Snow Mountain Ranch Nordic Center and Devil's Thumb Ranch; and the lift-served Fraser Tubing Hill keeps families busy all day long. Dog-sledding, cozy sleigh rides and snowmobile tours are also popular pursuits around this mountain town.

Fraser doesn't shut down when the weather gets warm. Nearly 600 miles of hiking, biking and horseriding trails can be found in the area, and the town is only a half-hour drive from the west entrance of Rocky Mountain National Park. The national forest is a playground for campers, hunters, fishers and scenic drivers. The Fraser River and St. Louis Creek are popular with fly-fishers.

The Fraser River Trail is a paved, family-friendly path good for cyclers and walkers that runs the 5 miles between Fraser and Winter Park, with picnic tables and educational signs along the way.

For local history and recreation, Cozens Ranch Open Space has plenty of trails to explore, as well as fishing, wildlife watching and the Cozens Ranch Museum, set along the Fraser River. The museum, the first homestead in the Fraser Valley, explores the area's pioneer past.
