Each fall, the whispering aspens that run alongside Hwy. 125 in Colorado’s North Park area around the town of Rand turn a shocking deep gold color that will make you want to snap photos for hours.

Just 15 minutes up the road is Arapaho National Wildlife Refuge, which is home to moose and many birding opportunities. End your trip to Rand with a stop into the Yacht Club, an Old West-style wooden building dishing up steaks, burgers, whiskey, ice-cold beer and live music.
