Wellshire Golf Course 100th Anniversary

Denver's Wellshire Golf Course, one of the oldest golf courses in the West and the only Donald Ross designed public golf course west of the Mississippi, will celebrate its 100th anniversary on June 5, 2026, with a golf tournament and evening celebration of music, food, activities, and golf history. This 100th anniversary coincides with the 250th anniversary of our nation and the 150th anniversary of the state of Colorado. Join us for day commemorating Denver, Colorado, and the United States of America’s histories. The beautiful course of lush fairways lined with mature trees is where in 1948 Ben Hogan won his sixth consecutive tour, a streak not matched until 2000 when Tiger Woods accomplished the same feat. It was also at Wellshire in 1959 that a 23-year-old Bill Wright became the first Black man to win a major national tournament. Join us on June 5, 2026, for this community celebration at one of Denver's most beloved and historic golf courses.
