WeeCasa Tiny House Resort

WeeCasa Tiny House Resort

Nestled on the North Saint Vrain Creek's banks in the heart of Lyons, the world’s largest tiny house resort — WeeCasa Tiny House Resort — is exactly what it sounds like. More than a twenty adorable 165–400-square-foot getaways are lined up in quaint rows with twinkling lights. Picnic tables and colorful Adirondack chairs peek out between the lodgings, waiting for you to relax and start a new novel.

Perfect for couples, families and reunion-havers, each tiny home has a different feel. From The Ski Haus (think: a ski-run shower curtain) to the The Rocky Mountain High (the walls are decked out in Colorado-themed decor), there is something for everyone. And while these are small spaces, they still have all the amenities — cozy bathrooms, French-press coffeemakers, kitchenettes with a cooktop, luxury bedding and extra thick towels.

What makes it special?

The hotel was formed as a partnership between Lyons neighbors recovering from a devastating flood that changed the landscape of the community. So, when you stay, you are making a huge impact on this charming foothills hamlet.

The most Colorado thing about this place

Since the resort is located on the burbling creek, it offers private access. If you really want to wake yourself up each morning, run down there and put a toe into the chilly snowmelt water.

Coolest amenity

The community feel of this place is the coolest amenity! As dusk begins, head out to the lawn to grill up somethin’ good while the kiddos (and the little ones at heart) play cornhole, bocce and volleyball. Pick up s’mores supplies from the St. Vrain Market Deli & Bakery (a four-minute walk) and get slightly sticky making a treat at the communal firepits.

Best room to book

The Gnome Home is a must-book. You might think you’re on the set of “The Hobbit,” but don’t worry — you haven’t entered a portal to New Zealand. Enter through the low, circular door and you’ll be greeted with high, wood ceilings and a spacious kitchen. The stairway has a handrail that looks like a tree branch for a real you’ve-set-foot-in-the-forest vibe. Both tykes and adults will love sleeping in comfortable loft beds.

Our favorite traveler review

“I love this place! I am fascinated by tiny-home living. The designs are very unique and I’ve stayed here several times over the years and choose a different home every visit! It’s a tradition to come with my sons and make memories year after year. It’s quiet and close to downtown if you need anything. Close to a beautiful park with a river for fishing! ” — Robin S., Google
