Battlement Mesa Schoolhouse

Constructed in 1897, the schoolhouse was built with red sandstone from a rock quarry two miles away. It replaced the original log built school house built in 1889. In 1907, the building was enlarged to its current two room configuration. The building was used as a school and community meeting place for 50 years (1947). Then a meeting place after that.
