With views of the Blue River and easy access to ski resorts, hiking trails and Dillon Reservoir, this place makes the perfect wallet-friendly home base for mountain adventures.

At The Block, take your pick from all kinds of room options ranging from affordable shared dorms with bunk beds and community bathrooms to deluxe private rooms with an en suite bathroom and mountain-view terrace. Families and groups of friends can have their own sleepover-style getaway in one of the private bunk rooms.

What makes it special?

This hostel may be budget-friendly, but it doesn’t skimp on decor and amenities. Bright murals, trendy furnishings and a “Stay Rad” neon sign make for some Instagram-worthy backdrops. After a day of exploring the mountains, play a game of ping-pong, kick back by the riverside fire pit or unwind in the hot tub.

The most Colorado thing about this place

If there’s one thing Coloradans love, it’s adventuring into the great outdoors all year long. The Block fully embraces and encourages this passion for nature by offering a convenient storage area that’s designed for your larger gear. From ski boots and snowboards to bikes and golf clubs, bring and stow it all. Plus, it's got video surveillance and key-card-only access, so your equipment is secure until your next adventure.

Most unexpected amenity

This hostel/hotel was made for making new friends. Swap stories about your epic adventures with fellow guests as you sip on Colorado brews, handcrafted cocktails and fruit-forward mocktails at The Block Bar, or while cooking up your own food in the well-stocked communal kitchen. Then, peek at the events calendar to join one of the many on-site social gatherings, from yoga classes and run clubs to ecstatic dance parties and beer-darts games.

Our favorite traveler review

“We really enjoyed our stay here. They have a hot tub, bar and beautiful outdoor space by the river. It’s a hostel/hotel but has a really nice, upscale vibe. A lot of the rooms have big windows, and it was so nice to wake up and see the trees and the sky. The micro rooms are a great way to stay in budget but still get some privacy. They have a large community kitchen so you can make your own food. Most of the people here were super nice as well. Nice spot and great price. We will stay here again soon.” — Kaitlyn C., Google
