When he was 19, Javier Flores was involved in an accident that left him paralyzed from the waist down. Since then, his art has been fueled by his experiences and frustrations living with a disability. In particular, this piece was influenced by a proposed ADA regulation submitted to the United Nations. It was ultimately shot down by the U.S., who cited an infringement on sovereign rights.
