Historic Journeys on the Durango Train

Your adventure begins with a train that leads you through the pristine and rugged backcountry of southwest Colorado, starting in Durango. Live the experience today in a cozy passenger car, pulled by a coal-fired steam engine, as you roll through some of the most beautiful mountain country in the West.

Listen to the steel wheels sing as you venture along the roaring Animas River and towering peaks of the San Juan Mountains to Cascade Canyon or the historic mining town of Silverton. Throughout the year, experience the changing of the seasons in action and hop aboard for special rides on the Polar Express Train, or be a part of the Wine & Rails and Brew Train experiences. Whatever your tastes, adventure and majesty await you on the Durango and Silverton Train.
