In Montrose, Colorado, two Adirondack-style chairs sit outside a small, black home on a porch.

Montrose Tiny Home

Situated just 10 minutes from downtown Montrose’s shops, galleries and restaurants and 20 minutes from Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park’s dramatic panoramas and picturesque trails, Montrose Tiny Home is the perfect jumping-off point for year-round adventures in western Colorado.

This Montrose tiny house is a cozy hideaway ideal for couples, digital nomads and travelers on their way to popular ski towns like Telluride and Crested Butte. While advertised as a tiny home, guests will find that the property isn’t lacking for space — in fact, it has two expansive lofts! Cook meals, read a book and sip on a chilled glass of Colorado craft beer on the first floor, where the kitchen and dining room greet you with high ceilings and stunning vistas. The bottom floor also offers a joint office and living room. Journey up the ladder to the secondary loft where a full-size bed awaits. Then, on the second floor, a queen-size bed sits surrounded by windows, making you feel as though you’re sleeping outside.

What makes it special?

It’s got to be the incredible views of the San Juan Mountains! From every room in the house, you can gaze at the rugged mountain range that was once a prolific mining destination during the Colorado Gold Rush.

The most Colorado thing about this place

Many travel to Colorado because of their love for outdoor adventures. Montrose Tiny Home’s proximity to national parks, ski towns and winding rivers allows visitors to experience many of the wild and beautiful natural wonders that Coloradans always rave about.

Most unexpected amenity

Farm-fresh eggs, anyone? Next to the house sits a chicken coop where guests are free to collect eggs to cook for breakfast during their stay. The hens’ friendly clucking will make you feel welcome every time you return to the property — “buck, buck, buck!”

Top sensory encounter you’ll experience

The tiny house’s secluded location provides you with a sense of peace, enabling you to reconnect with nature and yourself, whether you’re spending the evening stargazing on the porch (the close-to-zero light pollution makes nighttime a true spectacle!) or watching the radiant sunrise from the floor-to-ceiling windows.

Our favorite traveler review

“We never wanted to leave! Alejandro’s tiny home was so relaxing and just what we needed. We were traveling from Aspen to Ouray, and it was the perfect spot to spend two nights to recharge. The kitchen was perfect and had everything we needed to cook some amazing eggs. The bed was very comfortable, and I got the best sleep score, according to my Garmin watch, on the whole trip here — 92/100! Really great stay and amazing, calming views. If we are ever in the area, we will be back.”  — Arianna, airbnb
