Many of Colorado’s most famous ski towns, including Aspen, Beaver Creek, Breckenridge, Copper Mountain, Keystone, Snowmass and Vail, are found in this region, as well as towns packed with family attractions like Glenwood Springs, Frisco and Georgetown. The area is brimming with cold- and warm-temperature activities. The summer brings alpine coasters and waterfall hikes while the winter provides the perfect opportunity to improve your skiing and snowboarding skills. These towns provide outdoor excitement as well as world-class dining and culture.

The Rockies Playground is the region where you can stay outside during the entire day; it’s truly like being a kid again — with hot chocolate afternoons and freshly baked cookies when you come off the slopes.

In the winter, ski your way to backcountry huts or snowmobile the day away. Après ski in adorable mountain towns with art museums, five-star dinners and bonfires. Or treat yourself to a one-of-a-kind massage, snow facial (it might be cold, but it will make you look so young) or a bit of shopping.

During the summer speed around switchbacks on a mountain bike or zipline across terrain that provides breathtaking views of some of America’s tallest mountains. When all of that snow melts, head to the Class IV and V rapids for a day of splashing around in a whitewater raft. At night see a show or take in live music at one of the many festivals in the region. And don’t forget, the fall brings with it some of the most majestic leaf changing sites in the world.
